Introduction to Video Self-modelling

A new tool for use in childhood disability- including cerebral palsy.

A combined one day workshop to develop an understanding of how to use Video self-modelling (VSM) to help children living with neuro-disability achieve their goals in the context of providing ideas and strategies to assess, understand, and manage behaviour in children with neuro-disability.

Therapy Assistants Course

A Therapy Assistants course for people working with children who have cerebral palsy

Come and join us for this two day course for therapy assistants who want to learn about cerebral palsy and the Bobath approach. This course will give you ideas and skills to incorporate into your practice with children who have cerebral palsy. We will look at the Bobath concept and its practical application in sessions with children with cerebral palsy.

Date: 11th-12th February 2020

Duration: Two days, 9am-5pm each day

Cost: £335 per person (including refreshment but not including lunch)

Who is this course for? – The course is for Physio, Occupational and Speech & Language Therapy Assistants who execute therapy programmes under supervision of qualified therapists  in their places of work. – We highly recommend that participants should have experience in actively working with children with cerebral palsy and related neurological conditions  so that they have a frame of reference for application of treatment strategies, which will be shared on the course.

Early Intervention & Assessment Course

Delivered by highly experienced course leaders, Betty Hutchon and Chris Barber, this course presents a comprehensive overview of assessment and early intervention in children from birth to 12 months, utilising the EI SMART approach to maximise the effectiveness of early intervention.

The key principles will be to promote & encourage self-initiated movement, variability, play, communication and social interaction.

Course Dates: Monday 10th – Saturday 15th February 2020

Bobath Introductory Course

A three day introductory course on the treatment and management of children who have cerebral palsy

This three day course is an introduction to the Bobath concept and its application in the treatment and management of children with cerebral palsy. This course is suitable for physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and doctors who work with children with cerebral palsy or who hope to work in paediatrics in the future. The course is designed to give course participants an insight into the use of the Bobath approach through demonstrations, discussions and lectures.
