Cerebral Palsy Register Co-ordinator

Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre Wales provides physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language therapy in a transdisciplinary setting for children and young people who have cerebral palsy. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of children who have cerebral palsy and to help each child to reach their full potential. 

We are in the process of developing a Cerebral Palsy Register for Wales – the first UK nation to do so. The CP Register will help us to lead the way nationally and internationally in providing treatment for children and adults with cerebral palsy helping us monitor the incidence and prevalence of cerebral palsy in Wales, and plan future services for children and adults who have cerebral palsy. To lead on progress so far, we have a vacancy for a  Cerebral Palsy Register Co-ordinator, funded by a grant from the Moondance Foundation.

This part time role is for a qualified Physiotherapist to lead on the strategic and operational development of the Cerebral Palsy Register for Wales.  You will be able to develop positive relationships and effective communication with staff, key stakeholders, Welsh Government/NHS/NWIS, local therapists and their managers, children, families and carers on all matters related to the register. The role will involve close collaboration with the Centre Director and Management Team at Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre, as well as working closely with co-leads, the Register Steering group and all subgroups of the Cerebral Palsy Register for Wales.

Hours:                        14.4 hours per week

Contract length:     2 years fixed term

Location:                    Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre Wales / home based work may be possible

Salary:                        NHS Band 6-7 equivalent

Van Driver

Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre Wales provides physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language therapy in a transdisciplinary setting for children and young people who have cerebral palsy. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of children who have cerebral palsy and to help each child to reach their full potential. 

To help us raise funds we currently have 5 shops where we sell clothes, furniture and electrical items – our shops generate over a third of our income and are vital to our charity’s success! We are looking to recruit an experienced driver to join our retail team to help us increase our delivery capacity.

This role will involve driving our charity vans (B1 and C1 vehicles), collecting furniture and small electrical items and delivering these and donations to our charity shops. This role involves working with other staff, volunteers, shop customers and donors. Candidates must have excellent customer service skills and a clean driving licence is essential. This role involves  manual handling of heavy furniture and bulky items.

Salary:                        £8.46 per hour

Volunteering

Do you have some spare time and would you like to volunteer with Bobath Wales? We have volunteering opportunities available in our charity shops and sometimes in the Centre with some of our teams. Volunteering help us as a charity, but importantly, it also gives you the chance to learn new skills, meet new people and help us raise awareness about our charity’s work as well!
