Racing success for Regan

Here at Bobath Wales, we love hearing about the fantastic things our children have achieved!

This Friday, we would like to celebrate Regan’s brilliant achievement in taking part in the Taff Kids Event which was part of the Long Course Weekend held in Tenby last weekend.

Regan had a brilliant time running through the beach, into the sea and back again towards the finish line. Taking part in a large organised activity can sometimes be difficult for Regan as he is very sensitive to noise and sometimes becomes anxious at the start of races… but after a few cuddles from his Dad, Richard, he was ready to start the race with a big smile on his face!

“We try to give Regan as many opportunities as possible to take part in events and pursue activities he enjoys” said Mum Tracy, “One of the reasons for this is because we want him to know he can achieve anything he wants to, regardless of his limitations.” Alongside running, swimming and gymnastics, Regan also plays the drums and has a real passion for music.

Regan and his family were also delighted to see that he appeared on the official long course weekend video too, which can be seen here: https://vimeo.com/279945125

And how did the superstar feel after the race? “It was really good! My favourite part was running into the sea and getting the medal at the end!”

Regan couldn’t wait to bring his Taff Kids Event medal in to show us all after his therapy session and we can’t wait to hear how he gets on with his next exciting challenge.
Well done Regan – you really are a superstar!
