We’re so excited to be holding our 15th anniversary ‘A Question of Women’ event in June with special guest star, Ruth Jones.
Ruth Jones (who played Nessa in Gavin and Stacey and Stella in the TV programme of the same name) will be talking to our lovely host, Lynn Bowles (Radio 2 and BBC Radio Wales), about her acting and screenwriting career and her unmissable, debut book, ‘Never Greener’. Set in 1985 and 2002, the book tells the story of a couple who embark upon a second love affair, seventeen years after their first one. It’s being described by critics as “a captivating novel” and “unputdownable”.
As a charity, we provide specialist therapy and treatment to children across Wales living with cerebral palsy. The charity not only supports the children but gives families advice and help if they need it. Cerebral palsy is one of the most common disabilities in children and affects an estimated 1,800 children in Wales.
Ruth said she’s delighted to be taking part in A Question of Women. “I’m looking forward to supporting Bobath Wales and talking about my career, including my new novel, Never Greener. It’s so exciting to be launching my debut book and at the same time supporting a great Welsh charity which helps to change the lives of so many children who have cerebral palsy.”
Last year, we raised £1.2m, with 76% of donations coming from the public. Therefore events such as this are vital to continuing our work with children.
Our Head of Income Generation, Rachel Morgan, says she’s thrilled to welcome Ruth and hopes the evening will be enjoyed by all. “We can’t thank Ruth enough for her support and we can’t wait to hear her talk about her incredible career and her new book. Without stars like Ruth giving up their time, we wouldn’t be able to hold events like this one and raise the funds needed to keep our Centre running.”
