Designer donations raise £4k for Bobath Wales

Over the past few months, specially selected items that have kindly been donated to Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre Wales have been set aside for an exclusive one off event.
The ‘Designer and New Label’ Sale, organised by store manager, Leah Moore, and her fantastic team of volunteers, took place on Saturday at the charity’s Llanishen Shop and raised an incredible £4462 in just eight hours.

Following on from the success of their previous designer sale which took place last year, all the volunteers and staff at the Llanishen store were keen to do it all again but bigger and better… and that is exactly what they did! After weeks of preparation, the clothing rails and racks were bursting with designer items such as Converse, Superdry and Vivienne Westwood. “The event was so exciting for both the customers and volunteers alike” said Leah Moore, Llanishen Shop Manger. “I would never have been able to execute this event without the help, support and dedication of the wonderful volunteers who we have here at the Llanishen Store.”

Bobath Wales has 5 charity shops across Cardiff and has a team of over 100 volunteers who give their time to help in the retail shops, as well as at Bobath Wales community events. Every year Bobath Wales needs to raise £1.5M to ensure they can continue to provide their services to families across Wales free of charge. In 2017-18, £437,635 of this income came from retail activity so events like the designer sale are a really vital source of income.
