This Christmas, we are delighted to be taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2018.
This is a national fundraising initiative aiming to help charities increase their income for Christmas, and hopefully the long term.
In partnership with ‘The Big Give Christmas Campaign’ we are asking you to support us and help us fundraise our ‘Time for Teens’ project.
For every £1 that is given to Bobath Wales online at theBigGive.org.uk between 12pm on Tuesday 27th November and 12pm on Tuesday 4th December we will receive £2 thanks to a matched funding pledge from The Big Give (Wales Fund) and law firm Slater & Gordon.
Transition to high school or to adulthood can be challenging for any young person. For those with cerebral palsy it can be overwhelming. We will support 4 young people aged 11-18 years who have cerebral palsy and who are at a critical stage in their life to gain as much independence and self-esteem as possible in order to transition more smoothly to the next stage in their lives.
With this funding, we will be able to give young people ‘time’ – to explore what they currently find challenging, to listen to their personal aspirations and to work together to meet their challenges. They may want to be able to make a cup of tea without spilling it, do up the buttons on their school shirt or use a key in their front door. As specialists in cerebral palsy we have the knowledge and expertise to help the young people achieve their goals.
