Bobath's Big Lottery Win

25/08/2011

Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre Wales has had a very special visit from presenter Jenny Bond and the Big Lottery Fund.

It was a great success with Jenny Bond observing some Bobath therapy and talking to the different staff about their roles at the centre. The visit also brought with it a big surprise when Jenny announced to staff and families that were gathered the fantastic news that the Big Lottery Fund were awarding Bobath a grant of £96,722!

Jennifer Carroll, Centre Director said “Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre Wales are so grateful to the Big Lottery Fund for the generosity of the grant; the money will provide training twenty-four Community Paediatric Therapists in the Bobath concept meaning more children will be treated who presently are unable to access the Bobath Centre.”

A very emotional Glenys Evans, Family Support Coordinator, went on to say ‘It was a wonderful surprise when Jenny Bond announced the grant and presented us with the cheque, emotions were running high and more than a few tears were shed from those present, the money will improve the quality of life for many children in Wales who have cerebral palsy”.

However, we still need your support. ''This money will not go towards running costs of keeping the Centre open so please continue supporting us''. - Gail Griffiths, Fundraising Manager.
