Jenny Carroll, Centre Director
Jenny trained at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital School of Physiotherapy in Birmingham and qualified in 1985. Jenny worked in Birmingham for several years, then in Milton Keynes and Luton, Bedfordshire. In these posts Jenny developed her paediatric, Bobath and management skills before joining Bobath Children's Therapy Centre Wales in January 1998. Jenny became centre director on March 1st 2006.
Dawn Forbes, Clinical Expert
Dawn trained in Cardiff and qualified in 1983. Dawn spent a few years in the north of England before travelling overseas. In 1992 she worked in Kenya with a little girl with cerebral palsy. During her four years there, she expanded into outpatient physiotherapy and community paediatrics. She returned to Wales in 1996 when she then joined the team at Bobath Children's Therapy Centre Wales.
Renee Daelmans, Clinical Specialist
Renee qualified in the Netherlands in 1995. Renee specialises in the paediatric field and has worked in the Netherlands, Austria and the UK. Renee joined Bobath Children's Therapy Centre in May 2001.
Nicola Parkinson, Clinical Specialist
Nicola qualified as a speech and language therapist in 1991 in Sheffield with a BMed Sci (Speech) Hons. Initially she worked with both adults and children in acute and community settings. In 1996, Nicola specialised in working with pre-school children within a child development centre in London. She then moved to Cardiff in May 2003 when she joined the team at Bobath Children's Therapy Centre Wales.
Alison Hobbs, Physiotherapist
Alison did her physiotherapy degree in Cardiff, 1993-96. In August 1996 she started working as a physiotherapist in Singleton Hospital,Swansea and then moved to the Community Paediatric Physiotherapy Team (Swansea) in January 1998, where she stayed until coming to the Bobath Centre. Whilst working within the community team she gained experience in working with children with a variety of conditions, though predominantly Cerebral Palsy.
Belinda Miles, Physiotherapist
Belinda qualified in physiotherapy from Cardiff in 1989 and worked in Newport until 1994 concentrating in adult neurology. She then moved to a children's centre in Cardiff and worked in the community, special schools and with young people with chronic fatigue syndrome. Belinda joined Bobath Children's Therapy Centre Wales in May 2003.
Julie Sayce, Physiotherapist
Julie qualified in 1994 at Cardiff with a BSc Hons in physiotherapy. She worked for 7 years in Gwent in both acute and community settings with adults and children. She has been specialising in paediatrics since 1999 and has worked in the community and at a SCOPE run school in Cardiff. Julie joined the Bobath Children's Therapy Centre Wales' team in May 2003.
Ingrid Vriend, Occupational Therapist
Ingrid trained in Cape Town and qualified in 2000. She locumed in NHS hospitals around London for a brief period before moving to work at a special needs school in a rural area of South Africa. Ingrid joined the team at Bobath Children's Therapy Centre Wales in May 2005.
Marissa Mount, Occupational Therapist
Marissa trained in Coventry and qualified in 1998 with a BSC (Hons) in Occupational Therapy. She began working at the Leicester Royal Infirmary before moving to the Leicestershire community paediatric team. Whilst working within the team she gained experience working with children with various conditions, including children with cerebral palsy. Since this Marissa has worked around the Midlands, in Australia and Wales.
Davina Isaac, Physiotherapist
Davina qualified as a physiotherapist in 2002 from Cardiff University. Before joining Bobath Children's Therapy Centre Wales in October 2006 she worked as a rotational physiotherapist in Pontypridd and Rhondda gaining experience in all areas before moving to the paediatric physiotherapy team in October 2003. Whilst working in this team she practiced in various settings including acute wards, outpatients, special and mainstream schools.
Maureen Deane, Therapy Assistant
Maureen trained as a nursery nurse and qualified as a NNEB in 1995. Maureen spent five years as a support worker to families of children with disabilities, working with them in their home environment. She then became Toy Librarian for the County of Caerphilly, providing a mobile service to disabled children throughout the county. Maureen joined Bobath Children's Therapy Centre Wales in October 1998 to assist the therapy team.
