Race The Dragon for Bobath in 2010!
Swansea, SA1 Waterfront
Sunday 20th June 2010

Cardiff, Atlantic Wharf
Sunday 12th September 2010

Dragon Boat RaceBobath is looking for teams to enter this fun filled and dynamic day of Dragon Boat Racing in both Swansea on the 20th June and Cardiff on the 12th September.

We set sail for the first time in Swansea’s fantastic SA1 Waterfront area and it is sure to be a very colourful and action packed day. Bobath is teaming up with the South Wales Boat Show for this event so the day really will be a spectacle.

This will be the second year that we will be setting sail in the Atlantic Wharf waters, Cardiff Bay. Last years event was a great success and fun was had by all. The teams raised in excess of £12,000 and we hope that 2010 will be an even greater success.

We are looking for teams of 11 passionate paddlers to participate. Maybe you are a company, social group or club and would like to participate. All we ask is that you are over the age of 12 (children under 16 will require parental consent) and can paddle or beat a drum.

The racing takes place over one day and each team, often in fancy dress, will take part in a minimum of 3 races over a 250 metre stretch of water. The teams with the fastest times will go through to the grand final. All equipment including the dragon boat, paddles and life jackets are provided by our team of dragon boat experts.

For more information please contact the fundraising team.

Trek Mount Toubkal, Morocco
Experience the trek of a lifetime...

22nd – 26th September 2010

Trek Mount Toubkal, MoroccoClimb Mount Toubkal North Africa’s highest mountain, one of the Atlas Mountains which run south west through Morocco. They are remote, barren and absolutely stunning. The ancient and bustling city of Marrakech with its labyrinthine streets boasts some of the most intriguing souks in Morocco.

Our challenge is to climb Mt Toubkal; at 4167m North Africa’s highest mountain. The route is tough in places with steep rocky climbs and made tougher due to the effects of being altitude; however the reward of magnificent views from the summit and our sense of achievement more than compensates for the effort put in.

The route also takes us through colourful Berber villages. The villagers farm in the river valleys and herd their goats and sheep in the mountains. We will have plenty of opportunity to meet them and to become accustomed to their way of life.
