 Relief Deputy Shop Manager / Warehouse Supervisor

We are recruiting for a Relief Deputy Shop Manager / Warehouse Supervisor to work in our warehouse and cover our charity shops in Cardiff and Barry. We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible candidates who can support the retail activities of this charity making a difference to children in Wales with cerebral palsy. Experience working in retail is essential and charity retail experience would be an advantage. Own transport is required as the role involves travel.

Hours and salary: 9.00am - 5.00pm, 5 days per week at £14,100 p.a.

Fundraising Support Assistant

We are looking for a highly organised, friendly and dynamic person to join our fundraising team in a support role. This post is a job-share, part-time 18 hours per week, although you could be asked to do more at busy times. This role is based in our Head Office in Whitchurch.

Senior Shops Manager

We are currently recruiting for a new Senior Shops Manager, who would manage their own shop (4 days per week) as well as supervise the managers of Bobath’s other three charity shops (one day per week).

This role would suit an experienced charity shop manager with lots of enthusiasm, and experience of leading teams of volunteers. A strong merchandising talent combined with excellent administration skills and fantastic people skills – if this is you, please apply to join our retail team!

£17,000 pa, full time (1 year contract)

5 days per week to include Saturday working

Play Workshop

What is the Play Workshop?

The course is designed to give course participants an insight into the development and importance of play,

exploring how we can use it effectively in therapy and how we can facilitate increased levels of participation in play for children who have cerebral palsy.

Aims:

  • To provide an overview of play and its role in many areas of typical development
  • To explore the use of play in therapy
  • To inspire creativity in play

Objectives:

  • To describe the different types of play
  • Explain some of the barriers to play that children who have cerebral palsy encounter
  • Demonstrate the use of play to facilitate movement
  • Problem solve a variety of ways to provide children who have cerebral palsy access to play activities

Who is the course for?

This course is suitable for paediatric occupational therapists, physiotherapists and speech & language therapists who work with children with cerebral palsy

The course is designed to give course participants an insight into the use of play through lectures, demonstrations, case studies and practical exercises

 What is the Introductory Course?

The course is designed to give course participants an insight into the use of the Bobath concept through demonstrations, discussions and lectures.

Because of the introductory nature of this course, there will not be an opportunity for practical handling by course participants.

Objectives:

  • To familiarise therapists with the basic concepts that underpin the Bobath approach to treatment. 
  • To demonstrate the interdisciplinary nature of assessment and treatment using the Bobath approach.
  • To discuss the implications of an understanding of child development to the treatment of cerebral palsy.
  • To demonstrate the assessment and treatment of children with spastic and dyskinetic features of cerebral palsy.

Who is the course for?

The course is aimed at Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Doctors who work with children with cerebral palsy or who hope to work in paediatrics in the future.
