Specialists in Cerebral Palsy

How can I arrange to visit the Centre and find out more?

Thank you for showing interest in finding out more about the service we offer to children with cerebral palsy and their families at Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre Wales. We would be very happy for you to visit the centre so that we can provide you with information and also show you how we practise Bobath therapy. In order to accommodate everyone who contacts us, we offer visitors’ mornings 4 times a year. During the visit we will share information on the service delivery model that we follow, explain and demonstrate what Bobath therapy is and how we work as a multidisciplinary team within sessions.

Although we realise that some people prefer to observe ‘live’ therapy sessions, this is often not possible because of family preferences and the difficulty that some children have coping with strangers in the room.  We therefore pre-record therapy sessions with parents’ permission, and show them to visitors as an alternative if we are unable to accommodate visitors within therapy sessions.  This option is often better than attending a session, because visitors are able to see a variety of ways in which we work, we are able to demonstrate the differences amongst the various types of cerebral palsy, and it is also possible to stop and start recordings, which makes for better interactivity.

As far as possible, we try to group those with similar interests and backgrounds together on a particular visitors’ morning to ensure that the level of the information that we give, suits everyone’s needs.

The presentation will be from 10:00 to 13:00 with a short break for refreshments.

The dates currently available are as follows:

  • Thursday 25th May 2017
  • Thursday 24th August 2017
  • Wednesday 22nd November 2017

If you would be interested in attending one our sessions, please contact our Reception on Telephone 029 20 522 600, who will be happy to make the arrangements for you.

We look forward to welcoming you at Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre Wales in the near future.
